Timothy Donohue

Timothy Donohue was born in Ohio but lived a number of years in Texas where he received a graduate degree in Creative Writing from the University of Dallas. In a career spanning four decades, he spent the first 20 years as a writer, producer and sometimes teacher, of print and broadcast advertising. He spent the next 20 years as communications director and administrator of services for non-profit entities dedicated to providing services to individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities and chemical dependencies. He realized, over time, that poetry and art could quit him any time, but he couldn’t quit them, no matter what he did.

All images were taken using an Apple iPhone. Adjustments were made on an Apple iMac, using only factory-installed tools. All works are printed on canvas, using a jetted-pigment application process (Giclee), and framed in black wood.Works are produced in limited editions, and are not always available for sale.

Music: "Don't Hook Your Thumb On The Piano" (Four Gymnosaties For Viewing Works On Canvas) was composed and performed by Mr. Donohue on a Suzuki GP-3 Mini-Grand Digital Piano, and recorded using the same iPhone he used for his works on canvas. The music file was subsequently mastered and produced by Soundwaves Recording, LLC. A CD of this music is available. Contact Donohue Words& Works, LLC for more information.
